The Virtual Sun - Awards for this page

I created this site for the annual `Science Day' here in Holland, to let the visitors to our Astronomical Institute play with. It was great for me to see people and especially young kids be amazed by the things presented here.

There are also a number of Internet sites which chose to award this site. In order not to clutter the front page with icons and buttons, here's a list of the `links of the day/week/month' this site has received.

  • Surprising Site of the Day (October 1995)
  • OnderwijsWeb site van de Maand (February 1996)
  • Invitation to join the Internet World Expo (March 1996)
  • Exploratorium: Cool site of the Month (April 1996)
  • Project Cool sighting of the Day (April 16, 1996) and included in `Coolest on the Web' - The world and beyond
  • Crest Top 5 of the week (April 1996)
  • FIDO Blue Ribbon Site of the Day (April 24, 1996)
  • Listed in From the Depths of the Web (a "compilation of the absolute best sites on the Web.")
  • AdZe's Cosmic Site of the Night (May 3, 1996)
  • Andrew's Cool Sites of the Week (May 1996)
  • 4 Star Award by McKinley (July 1996)
  • This site was reviewed on the PRN Radio Network's Daily Report (07/28/96).
  • And it was awarded a Times Pick by the Los Angeles Times on 25-Sep-96.
  • And it is now included in the Education Index! (March 13, 1997)
  • And it was chosen Cool Site of the Day at Cool Site Central (Aug 13, 1997)
  • Immediately followed by New Scientist Site of the Day on Planet Science (Aug 15, 1997).
  • Jan 02, 2001: Studyweb Award.
    StudyWeb Award
  • October 7, 2002: Featured on ScienceNetLinks.
  • I want to thank each of these sites for choosing to link my site and giving me this exposure. And most of all I would like to thank everyone who has signed my guestbook; the feedback is really appreciated.
